I totally agree. All the new computers that I have seen do not even have serial ports. I have had to go to a serial to usb cable but that requires that I still use the old serial cable attached to this cable and then to the computer because the serial to usb cable does not come with the correct end on the serial side to plug directly into the device. (this is with a different device than my bn) Also, I have never seen a desktop that comes with built in bluetooth so you can't easily do that either. Plus, if you are taking your braille display to different desktop computers, you may not be able to use it at all.

Humanware haven't given us the USB option. I only see two options for connectivity in the Braille terminal, Bluetooth and serial. I have not had any luck with connecting my unit via Bluetooth, so I was curious if it is necessary that I go dig up my serial cable adapter for my laptop? Also, can someone point me in the direction of braillenote commands to use with window eyes? Or, for that matter, instructions for using the bn as a Braille display in either the window eyes manual or the mpower manual? I'm running ks 7.21 b 54. I am combing through window eyes as we speak. If this is off topic, feel free to contact me off list. Thanks all! julie ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
