True. Many of the changes everyone wants require CE 6, and HW
said that upgrading CE is a major undertaking but that it is
being looked at.
As far as SSL goes, it seems to me that the SSL should be a
patch. Your BN gives you email access, so why should you have to
pay for that function to continue? I see this as more of a
necessity than a luxury, and BN users should not have to pay to
continue, not even improve, a function they already have. Why is
RFBD support free? It is the exact same thing; offering the same
functionality but through a needed way. USB/SD/MMC support
increases are also free, but they merely expand a function that
already exists and should be expanded anyway.
I love my BN, but sometimes I really have to wonder about HW's
running of the BN program. Sorry for rambling on so much.
Have a great day,
Alex

Chris and all,
I agree with you regarding the FM radio and the games. These are
things
that are not needed IMO.
You have to understand that when something is added to the BN,
there is a
lot of code which has to be written and tested to make sure the
application
in question is going to work as these applications, Keysoft
included, run on
top of Windows CE. While I am not a software developer, my
husband has done
this type of work for a major telecommunications company; and
this is how I
know what little I do know about this subject.
I definitely would like to have something that works rather than
have HW
rush with something because a few people are impatient and then
have those
very same people scream loudly when it does not work; thus
cluttering this
list with needless traffic.(large , loud scream!)
There is a critical release due out soon and the final work needs
to get
done so that this release can come out in time for the SSL
deadline. There
are people on this list who are depending on this release to be
able to
continue to get their E-mail. HW has heard the need for this
release and is
working to make it happen.
Again, the HTML issue does need to be addressed, preferably
before the IM
issue but if both can be done at the same time, all the better.
The Word
issue , as I said last night, is more complicated and requires
help from
Microsoft in order to address it.
As I have always said in advocacy, it is important to understand
both sides
of an issue. The same holds true here. You need to understand
HW's side if
you are going to make statements about what is needed. This
stuff is not
developed overnight. It takes time and a lot of testing to make
sure it
works right.
With regard to HW communicating more on this list, what do you
want them to
tell you; and even if they did talk about what you want them to
talk about,
would some of you be satisfied with the answer? Think about it
please.
Thank you for listening.
