Steve, I would recommend trying a 456 reset with the cards not in the unit then if that fails try the 456 reset with the cards in the unit. To perform a 456 reset, do the following: press and hold down dots 4-5-6 (J-K-L) Press the reset, but continue to hold down 456 (JKL) Once you hear the second chime, let up on dots 456 (JKL) You will hear a double tone meaning that you performed the reset correctley, if you don't hear the double tone, try again
