Ottawa Canada Dear Terry and List:
The two-piece charger can handle a bit more current than the one-piece charger, so helps keep the battery fully charged when the unit is in use while plugged into the charger. However the one-piece and two-piece chargers are essentially equivalent to one another, except that the two-piece charger will work on any voltage from 100 through 250 volts 50 or 60 cycles. So the two-piece charger is nice to have, but not essential unless you will be travelling to other countries with 220 or 240 volt power. There are various plugs used for 220 volt power in various countries. In Germany, I believe they use a plug with two round pins while in I think it is Korea they use the North American style plug called Crow's Foot, with two flat prongs on about a 45 degree angle to one another and a third flat prong below them that is vertical. Of course in North America for high current 220 volt loads, we use the relatively huge twist-lock plugs used on clothes dryers and electric ranges. Hope this helps. Brian Brian K.
