The service reset (mPower only) is reset+record button. It momentarily disconnects the battery, then reconnects it and performs a 4-5-6 reset.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Service Reset and my Compact FLASH Problem

Dear list,

A few days ago, I reported a problem I was having with Compact
FLASH cards not being recognized although the compact Flash wireless card seems to be functioning.
Unfortunately, I haven't resolved the issue but have received
some good suggestions. Since I wrote last, I have tried the two Compact FLASH cards in a BrailleNote
Empower and both cards worked fine. I have also tried the 4-5-6
reset and that did not resolve the problem.

I am thinking it is probably time to try a service reset before
sending the unit in which I understand is a 1-2-3 Reset. Before doing that, though, I what to be sure I
understand what I am getting into. I gather it uses a factory
version of Keysoft. Is this a version that was installed when the unit was manufactured, and if so, what is
the best way to get back to the current version if it turns out
the factory reset does not fix the problem of the card not being recognized? I am a little concerned that I
may have a hardware problem and not a software one.

Thanks again for your assistance.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson
