Dear List,
I did some google searches and I discovered a speed writing system which
should work with the BN. It's called "EasyScript, if you're writing by
hand, and ComputerScript, if you're using a PC. It's designed for the
sighted, but the system is based on letters of the alphabet, not graphics.
I have done some experiments, and I have found you can use a BT or QT entry.
If you use a BT keyboard, you will have to translate your notes into text.
Once that's done, you could copy your notes onto a PC and the ComputerScript
software will translate your notes into longhand.
I don't know if the software is screen-reader friendly but the system sounds
like something many of you could find useful.
If you want more information about ComputerScript or EasyScript, let me know
privately and I'll email it to you in html attachments.
The disadvantage of this system is you must turn off speech when you are
writing so people with /voiceNotes might not be able to use it without going
nuts.
I don't know if the course material for learning this system is accessible
to us, but I understand the basics.
I do think you might need to make some adaptations for braille, but I can
discuss those privately with anyone who's interested.
BTW, if your BN is in the shop, you can use ComputerScript by manually
typing it on your PC. You can also use EasyScript with a brailler or slate
and stylus.
