Hi all, just want to say thanks for the advice. My dad's going to put it on his house insurance, as well as help me register for my free student insurance, so I should be covered in both cases. Thanks again for the advice, greatly appreciated. P.S. Only a few hours to go now! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Lingard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Dear Terry and list:

I used to have my CCTV and computers covered by what are called
riders on my tenant's fire, theft and liability insurance, but
they were costing more to insure than everything else in the
apartment combined!

So I dropped the coverage on them as it was costing about 20% of
their purchase price per year to insure them.

Actual computers are generally coming down in price, but the
Access Technology, be it Braille display, BrailleNote or screen
reader are holding their own.

Ask what insuring the items will cost and just what they are
covered for and the deductible if any.

With my policy, the items covered by specific riders had a zero
deductible and I had no control over this.

Some companies may give you a much better rate if you say can
afford to pay the first $500 or $1,000 of loss yourself.

Also rates in one community may be quite different from another
community, due to the general level of crime and fires etc in
each area.
