Now, if only I can get JAWS to communicate with the thing via bluetooth then
I'll be happy. Don't get me wrong, I love the unit, and I wouldn't exchange
it, as I think it's a bluetooth issue at my laptop's end, but it's just
frustrating that it's not as simple as I thought it was. Anyway thanks for
the help, greatly appreciated.

Dear Chris and list:
The KeySoft firmware is in flash ram and I suppose you could
erase it if you took tools to your Mpower and opened up the case
and messed with the chips on the circuit board.
However normally the only way to erase the KeySoft is to run the
boot loader which erases the current version and installs a new
one from a SD card.
Do protect your Mpower from:
Fizzy drinks, beer, ale, wine and Scotch and other liquids.
And thoroughly wash and dry your hands before reading the display
after munching potato crisps, Doritos or chocolate!
If you do the above, your unit should last a long time and serve
you faithfully.
