The thing is though, I have discovered that the serial port needs to be "forced" open in order for Braille terminal to even connect, never mind work. Why? If I try to connect to the Braille Terminal, via bluetooth this is, without the com port being open in the first place, I get the following message on my mPower: "The serial port is not available." followed by: "The operation completed successfully". The same is true for the remote synthesizer, except I get a different message: "The specified network resource or device is no longer available". Well I'm sorry, but how can this be when no programmes I have running are accessing the serial port? And how come that if I open the serial port, say, via Hyperterminal, both Braille Terminal and Remote Synthesizer will connect properly? I'm beginning to wonder if there are compatibility issues with my Belkin adaptor and the Windows XP SP2 drivers, causing the serial port to be denied access, even though nothing's accessing it. Hmm, strange. I should also point out that if I use the serial port option (I'm on about the "real" serial port option), both Braille Terminal and Remote Synthesizer will connect properly. Thanks in advance once again for the help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nicole B. My active sync gets mad when I try to use visual display, but it's fine when I tell it to go away and stop trying to connect.HTH, Nicole----- Original Message ----- From: "Joseph Lee" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Chris Hallsworth" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[email protected]>Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2007 8:36 AMSubject: re: [Braillenote] Interesting finding when attempting to useBrailleTerminalHi Chris,Because Visual Display interferes with Braille Terminal. You'll have to turn Visual Display off before you can use Braille Terminal. Speaking of this, you'll have to restart JAWS while BrailleNote is in Braille Terminal in order for it to truly work.Cheers, Joseph----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth"<[EMAIL PROTECTED]To: "BrailleNote List"<[email protected]Date sent: Sun, 26 Aug 2007 14:34:59 +0100 Subject: [Braillenote] Interesting findingwhen attempting to use BrailleTerminalHi all, I have looked further into my problem of notbeing able to use BrailleTerminal via bluetooth on my laptop. I ranHyperterminal, and I couldsuccessfully connect to the com port. When Ilaunch Braille terminal, Istill get a blank display at the mPower'send, however when I press keys onmy mPower BT 32 garbage appears on the screenof my laptop. However, when Ienable visual display via Bluetooth, which isa cool feature I have to say,the information is displayed correctly on mylaptop. Now can anyone help inwhy this would be the case? I'm slightlyworried that my mPower BT 32's atfault here. Thanks in advance for the help.P.S. I'm using a Belkinbluetooth adaptor which uses Windows XP SP2drivers as its bluetoothsoftware.
