Dear BrailleNote list,

I found something rather interesting when creating a document in class
today. I will normally differentiate my lecture notes by using the date, the
format I tended to use was month.day.year, so today would be, 9.4.07. I
found out after wasting about 20 minutes in class that after pressing the
first decimal after the n9 that KeySoft was taking the rest of the numbers
following the first decimal to be a file extension. Two things occurred from
this:
1. I couldn't locate the file using keyword. I had to go through file
manager, but even then I couldn't open the file as the extension was 0407,
which isn't a valid file type.
2. After creating the document, the system came up with "review the
options?" So, I thought from here that KS 7.5 must of changed my default
wordprocessor files. I went into setup options under keyword and reentered
the file name, same issue. So, after 20 minutes of fiddling with this in
class, it dawned me that it was possible that KeySoft took the decimal as an
extension.

So as a pointer, do not use decimals when typing in file names. From here on
I will use a / or - instead of a period. I think that this is a small
enough issue that it most likely won't be fixed in the patch, but it will be
great if it was.
