Hi Terry,
It is my understanding that you need the UAK (user authorization
key) from RFB&D to read their books on any device whether the
device is purchased from Humanware, APH or wherever (except
machines purchased directly from RFB&D themselves of course). I
think the UAKs are $20 each. You mentioned downloading on your
computer but I am not quite sure what you mean. I don't think
you can download books from RFB&D at this time can you? If you
mean you would like to listen to the RFB&D books on your
computer, you will have to have a DAISY reader program and a UAK
for that as well. If you just mean you want to use your computer
to copy books to CF or SD cards to listen to on the BN, you
should be able to do that without a UAK I would thhink. I know
it's a pain. If you are really more interested in recreational
reading, NLS is probably more your ticket anyway. RFB&D is a
wonderful service for those of us who need textbooks though. In
fact, I didn't even realize until just recently that RFB&D had
more recreational reading. I just ordered Eragon and Eldest and
am listening to them with my kids so I will know what all the
fuss is about. (grin) Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.

Am I missing something! Are you saying I need this special chode

down load from my computer, another one to play that cf card or

on my m-power and a third to play it on my stream. If I am
understanding you right, that is just robbery. I do not have
internet
coverage for my m-power so if I use this service, I am stuck
downloading
from my computer at work. Guess I will find enough to read with
NLS.
That's about $100+ for all 3 machines.

Do what the announcement said and contact R. F. B. and D. to
arrange to get a User Authorization Key.
The U. A. K. is required so foreigners with Mpowers cannot play
R. F. B. and D. digital books even if an American friend provides
them with the books.
