An update: I had just inserted another file into my working file and it wouldn't let me insert the date or time. After writing the below email and reentering the file, all worked as expected and the strange "$lg" symbol was gone from the top of the file. I think that was the problem, but am not sure.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] ks7.5.20 bug:

Hi all,
I just found out that inserting the time/date in a text file when
the BN is set to UEB will not work. There is no error message or
anything, it just takes you back to your document without
inserting anything. Can anyone duplicate?

Have a great day,
Alex
