Ah no! My local Humanware dealer's sent me an SD card, so I hope mine isn't
a faulty one! Maybe I should just buy an SD card anyway now I have a fast
connection, and upgrade myself, without having to worry about the upgrade
failing. Good job I haven't done it yet!

Subject: [Braillenote] Upgrade to 7.5 freezes when sd card format
notFAT--suggestion

Hi,

There were a batch of SD cards containing the KeySoft 7.5.20
which were dispatched, with the SD card not in FAT format.
This might only be an issue in the UK I don't know.
Anyway, I got one of them.
When trying to upgrade with it the symptoms are: the upgrade
procedure struggles to find the initial file, that's the one
who's name includes the serial number; after the dots 4,5 reset,
(j,k I think on QT) the display remains blank, the mPower does
not respond to any keys and the upgrade freezes--(no beeps).
Because I can not reliably remember the exact sequence of
commands to resolve this, I am not including them--it is
basically moving the files off the SD, formatting it and moving
the files back--but I don't want to mislead anyone.
I was also then told to do the upgrade in a different way to that
described in the instructions.

This problem shouldn't strike those who download because you are
taken through the prepare SD card procedure.

My suggestion is to perhaps plan to upgrade early in the day,
just in case, so there is ample time to call HW and get a
response that day.

Regards,
Steve.
