Your friend could try the following:

1.  When the document is open, press read with s until he hears, "sentence 
and paragraph reading mode."

2.  Tell him to go to the file translation menu, forward translation, text 
to braille translation setup list.  When he comes to, "what type of 
paragraph boundary is used in the source document," press n for new line and

press enter.

3.  Tell him to open the document again and press read with 8.  Each line 
should read as a paragraph.  The QT command for reading a paragraph is read 
with 8, not control of 8, (grin).
