When I received the upgrade to the empower, I received the dictionary free. I'm glad it was free. Had I paid the $195 for this thing, I would have been extremely dissapointed. I'm not sure how many words are in there. I suspect it is around five to ten thousand. It has proven to be mostly pointless for our college courses. However, if I wish to know the dictionary def of a off-color word, I can find it. However, should I be playing "Target", looking for a word in my field of study or interest, or most of my other endeavors, (be they fun or professional), I'm as likely not to find it as I am to find it.
When I heard there was going to be a dictionary and thesaurus available, I was extremely happy. I have always wnated an accessable couple of these volumes. And when it was offered free with the upgrade, I was highly anticipatory. However, life has proven these expectation to be highly overly expanctant and extremely presumptious. Many times the dictionary has proven to almost superfluous. The dictionary is a fantastic idea. It just needs to be one that has many more words in it. HOpefully, the next choice wil be a better one.
