Can someone that uses a QT help Katy. I know that I am not the list moderator, but I would like to take this time to remind people of two things I have seen happen a handful of times before. I will admit that I am guilty of doing the same thing from time to time. 1. When there is a message like, "thank you," it should go directly to the sender and not to the list as it is messages like this that fill up people's inboxes and add no meaning at all to the message. If the message that you are writing is a general announcement or you think it will benefit others, be sure to use the reply all feature in your email program. 2. Could we please change the subject line when the subject changes? This will helpe people who filter messages by subject line to find an answer they are looking for or read about a thread that they think is interesting. I must be frank, it is quite frustrating to see a list of ten or more messages in a row with the same subject line and if you open that tenth message, the subject has nothing to do with the subject line. Make sure the subject line is not to long but is concise and summarizes the content of the message.
I will try myself to keep these suggestions in mind when replying to messages on this list and hope everything will do the same. I think that with these suggestions it will make the list traffic calm a bit and we will see less of the messages that have no meaning, the messages that are intended for a single recipient, and those messages that were intended for a list rather than a single recipient a thing of the past. It will also make the archive a place that is more navigable for those users who are wanting to look up an answer on a subject before posting something. And who knows, the BrailleNotes may then actually be able to handle the archives. If your reply would be useful to the list, please send a copy to the list as well.
