I didn't get a CF card when I purchased my PK from HW just about three years ago now. Oh, grin, I'm not complaining at all, it's just that I posed the same question on the list at the time, and others purchasing from HW didn't get the card, either, best I can recall, anyway, thus I just didn't pursue that issue. So, who knows why the packaging says that.
As for the compatibility list for the PK, Brian might be right about your best bet being to call HumanWare.
