I just use a file called notes for this reason and when I am done with
an appointment, phone number, anything, then I delete it.  I even have a
folder for the NFB and one for work.

I would love that, and to have a task or tasks shown/spoken as soon as
you turn on the unit.  I would also like an alarm clock and count-down
timer.  Timers are used as projects in programming classes, I have
heard, so it cannot be all that hard to write one.
