I think it's a good idea to show and explain the functions in the options menu, especially the visual display with KeyView using Bluetooth as this is a new application. Also, it will show us the extent to which the functions can be used.

Subject: [Braillenote] Options Menu podcast planned: what are
your opinions?

Hi folks,
A number of people on this list have asked me update aboutOptions
Menu opdcast. As soon as my desktop i.e. recording studio is working again (I've got startup problem), I'll record the podcast as soon as possible. Please note that the material that will be covered is based on KeySoft 7.5.27.
Here is the list of what I planned to cover:
* Introduction to Options Menu
* Options Menu items
* Notification: time, date, Next Appointment and Power and
Battery Status
Tip: Using Stopwatch
* Matter of braille grade: Grade of Braille and Language
* Reading at hand: Braille Options (formerly Braille Display
Options) and Front thumb-key/navigation key on/off
* Typing away: Keyboard Settings
* For your ears: Review Voice
Tip: Repeat again: Spell and Hear Punctuation
* Sighted help: Visual Display
Tip: Visual display using KeyView via Bluetooth
* Help headquarters: User Guide
Tip: using User Guide and its features
* Moving on: Move to another Task (formerly Change Task)
* Controlling speech: volume, pitch and speed reminders

My idea is to divide the podcast into two parts: one will
introduce Options Menu and go through Review Voice, then second will cover the remaining options. I'll try my best to cover all hardware and software versions (that is, mPOwer, PK and Classic hardware, as well as KeySoft 5.x and above). Note that Connectivity is dealt in separate podcast. (although WiFi will not be covered, since I lost my WiFi card.)
Hope to hear your opinions. You can write to me off list if you
want to.
Cheers,
Joseph
