It won't cost to test them? How do you do that--I am in Maine,
and we have almost nothing here.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] getting HumanWare to jack it up
Dear List,
Although I don't have many of the frustrations with the BN's
inability to
read and write Word docs because I hate Word, I do agree that
HumanWare
needs to jack it up so the BN will continue to meet people's
needs.
The best way to encourage HumanWare to jack things up is to write
a private
letter to them. In this letter, compare the BN's behavior with
problem Word
documents to the behavior of the competition notetakers' behavior
using the
same problem document with the competition's notetakers. Say how
the
competition's notetakers do a better job with the problem
documents.
Explain that if HumanWare doesn't jack things up, you will end up
buying the
competition's notetakers.
If HumanWare realizes how many sales they'll lose if they don't
jack it up,
they might be spurred on to making the improvements people have
been
requesting for years.
I would encourage all of you to test the competition's
notetakers--it won't
cost you anything to do that. Remember there are two notetakers
on the
market so you could try out both of them.
Understand that I don't think the list is the place to
illustrate
comparisons and I don't want to encourage product bashing and
flames.
Notetakers cost a lot of money and we, the end user, should get
the best
deal we can for our money.
