Hi,

I recently had a problem concerning emails with attachments.
I happened to receive files attached to two different emails, but of the same name. (In this case, both emails had more than 30 attachments, most of which had matching filenames). Because these were nearly all .gif or .jpg files, I tried to delete them all, but there were two files I could not delete.
(I used <backspace>c on the attachment in KeyMail for this).
These two files were "image001.jpg" and "oledata.mso".
I checked in the "Keymail/Attachments" directory, and they were not there. (I can't say for sure, but there may have even been another email with those two files). Anyway, I was not able to delete these emails, or move them to another folder. I received different errors, depending on what I tried, one was something like "system can not find file"--this may have been from <space>i for information on the attachment.
Work around.
I entered three files in the "Keymail/Attachments" directory: "image001.jpg", "image0011.jpg" and "image0012.jpg". To do this, I used KeyWord to create each file as .txt, containing four characters--(I didn't seem able to make an empty txt file). Then I used file directory to get to each file, and <backspace>r for rename, changing each .txt to .jpg. Then I went back to the first email and tried deleting the attachment "image001.jpg".
It succeeded, deleting "image0011.jpg".
The second email still failed, so I made another "image0011.jpg", which was removed when I tried again to delete it's "image001.jpg" attachment. Then I cleared up the other two files I'd put in that weren't needed.
(Did a similar thing with "oledata.mso").
After all that, I was able to delete the emails.

I don't know why they both got into the state of wanting "image0011.jpg", but I imagine somehow the mechanism for dealing with these conflicts tripped up slightly.

Regards,
Steve.
