Hi all,
First a quick intro, I'm a politics, media and German student from South Africa. I have some questions, about what I'd want from the Braillenote, but first my problems, or at least observations. I want to take down notes fast and efficiently in lectures, but I'd also be able to somehow mark the notes that I take in different degrees of importance, like what sighted students do when they mark notes in different colours. I'd like to also be able to sellect a long passage of text, and maybe be able to underline it or change it's style, but then easily be able to jump to that specific text, is that possible? I also get text books that contain tables, can the braillenote cope with these? With the braillenote, if I want to type in uncontracted braille, example in another language, can I use propper grade 1 braille instead of computer braille? Is there an encyclopaedia and dictionary available for the BN? I've been using a Pac Mate, but have really been horified to their attitude towards braille users, example you have to write uncontracted in calendar and diary, and it's a hassle to translate documents, there's also not really a system which I can use where I was explaining earlier about somehow selecting and marking important passages of text and getting to them in a hurry. I've also really not been impressed by the pac mate's support for second language braille. If the BrailleNote does meet my needs, does Humanware have some sort of tradein for Pac Mates, it is a BX20 model.
Thanks
Ari
