Hi Grant,

I don't quite get what you mean.
Where do you get that error, during creation or when trying to add a record? What is the pre-made database, one you had made before, or one that comes with the BN--if so which one? Can you create any database at all, even something of a single field? When you say "normal procedures", do you mean entering a database name that doesn't exist into Keybase, allowing it to create a file, then proceeding from there through the Keybase options?
What drive are you creating it on?
Is that KeySoft 7.5.28?

Regards,
Steve.

Subject: [Braillenote] Database query

Hi all,

I have a friend, with whom I am trying to resolve an annoying
problem with
the database manager on her brand-new BrailleNote mPower, running
the latest
build of KeySoft.

We have tried creating databases with normal procedures, but to
no avail. I
was previously able to correctly create a database on my former
BrailleNote
Classic, so I'm sure that I'm undergoing the correct procedure.
We even
tried copying a pre-made database and renaming it for our own
purposes.

Invariably we get a message stating that there is an error with a
specific
line number of our database definition file, and the entire
process haults.
We cannot add records.

What could be causing this?

Cheers

Grant
