Alice, Yes, that would be a good idea, but I wouldn't advise place it on a hard surface upside down as it has the potential of damaging the Braille display. I might hold it upside down for about 10 minutes or so.
Note: After exercising theBraille display for 20-30 minutes and some pins still aren't rising or aren't rising to their full potential, the only solution is to send the unit in for servicing of the Braille display.
