Hi list,
I'm not from HumanWare, but I'd like to give you my own opinions and answer and clarify some recent email while I was "gone to ski,": * Braille Display not operating on mPower: The Service Reset (Reset with Record) is, at the time of this writing, the only known "cure" for this problem. For the Classic, it would be equivalent to Reset with dots 4-5-6 (JKL), and for the PK, it would be C1-Cbled reset. * Upgrading: Corey, did you follow the steps that I've outlined on my podcast? Also, for clarification: I also have a 256 MB PNY SD card and I used it to upgrade my mPower. The size limit is between 64 MB and 512 MB. Also, did you download the eboot file as well as the nk image? * OS changes: yes, CE 6 does support Word 2007 documents (if I'm right), as well as better connections with Windows Vista. And, don't be fooled by version 7: don't be confused between Windows CE and Windows Mobile 6. Windows Mobile 6 is based on CE 5.2, not 6.0. CE 6.0 does power Mobile 7. * Spreadsheet: BrailleNote "indirectly" supports Excel spreadsheets - one can use CSV (Comma Separated Values) file to exchange data between Excel and KeyBase on BrailleNote. * WiFi "new visible network" - don't be "fooled" by this message - the effective way to find out whether this message was genuine (note that, for some networks, it is in fact genuine), you would use Scan for networks under Wireless Ethernet Menu. BTW, you cannot really put WiFi card plugged into the unit while traveling, since it will protrude from the slot thanks to the antenna thingy at the end of the card. Personally, I leave other cards - PC card, CF, SD - on my unit when traveling.
Cheers,
Joseph
