Hello Sheri,
I just tried the visit London site on my BN and had no trouble at
all. Perhaps the experience you had was with the eloquence screen
reader in Jaws. I was using the Key Note Gold speech on the BN.
I sure do wish we could determine what makes the BN do that odd
speech pattern. This was a good idea but I don't think it was
the answer. The speech I have gotten from the BN before was not
the accented British type of speech like I know you can get with
JAWS. It was a very choppy speech where some words were partly
spoken and partly spelled out. It is really grating on the
ears. I am going to visit this site with JAWS the next time I am
on the computer though just to see what happens. (grin)
Have a great week!
Nikki B.

Hi, Kerri,
I've had this happen with JAWS, and I'd suspect your experience
is caused
by
the same thing.
At the top of the source code that generates html pages, there
is a comand
somethin glike lang=en-us. this tells the browser that standard
English
United States style is the norm.
The command lang=en-uk makes JAWS speak with a Brittish accent.
If you want to hear it happen again, try this URL:
www.visitlondon.com
I didn't checkit on my BN, but it does the job on JAWS on my
desktop!
Have a jolly good time with it!
Peace,
sheri W-J

Subject: [Braillenote] funny bn speech experience
Hi list,
I was just now surfing the web and reading some articles when
all of a
sudden when I linked to a page, the bn started reading the page
funny,
and even the prompts for emptying my trash folder in keymail.
This is an
example of what it said, and I have re-created it to speak on
yours just
like it did on mine.
Email tra, shed (email trashed)
There are 3 ema, il in the tra, sh folder. Empty tra sh?
I reset using just the reset button after taking out my wi-fi
card, and
it seems to be fine now. I have never in my years of using a bn
experienced anything like this. I sure hope it was just a
glitch and
doesn't make a habit of reappearing.
Have any of you ever had this happen?
Kerri
