Hi Alice,
KeySoft 7.2.43 introduced Victor Reader
Pocket (The BrailleNote version of Victor
Reader). Technically, there are three types
of DAISY beoks: audio only, where a narator
reads a book, text/braille only, where
BrailleNote will read the book for you, and
audio and text, where you have a choice of
reading the book via narator or by KeyNote
Gold.
I guess it is our responsibility to check the
HW site regularly. Historically, a HumanWare
rep always announced and commented on new
KeySoft releases, so by the time new versions
are released, someone like Maurice Sloane
will comment about it.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] audible
Hi, all,
I have a PK running keysoft 7.2 build
something or other, in the sixties, I
think. BTW, although I bought the upgrade
options, I got no notification
that a new version of keysoft had come out.
I only knew about it because I
joined this list. Is it supposed to be our
responsibility to check the web
site periodically to see if something we've
bought and paid for is out there
yet? Hmmmm.
But I digress... as of what keysoft
version is the victor reader
available?
(I hope I have that name right...I get
confused with all the different
similar names for things) Does one then
download books as usual to a cf
card? Are they audio books or read by the BN
voice? Or are they braille
files?
If all this is old hat to most, if
someone would take pity on my
backward place in the techno world and answer
me privately since no one else
would be interested in such basic stuff, I
would be very grateful!
Thanks.
alice, who loves her PK, uses it constantly,
but is always looking for ways
to use it more to its fullest advantage!

hi hope we get to see audible.coms upport
into the book reader
surely it is possible since daisy is doable
now. how easy is that to use
by the way
can we set sleep timers etcetera?
one advantage i guess of having the
braillenote as a daisy player, for m
power and pk at least, is that we can work
whilst reading
