Hi,

I still don't get it.
I have done more tests.
All the files in these tests were created with KeyWord.

I put the following files in an empty folder and in this order: "a"; "a b"; "a b c".
They were all "Text documents".
File directory showed them in the order: "a b c"; "a b"; "a".
Next I deleted them all.

I put these three files in this order into that emptied folder: "a.txt"; "a b.txt"; "a b c.txt".
So these are all "ASCII files".
File directory showed them in the order: "a b c.txt"; "a b.txt"; "a.txt".
Then I deleted those files.

Finally I entered these in this order into that re-emptied folder: "a"; "ab"; "abc".
File directory ordered them: "a"; "ab"; "abc".
That is the order I expect.

I thought the order of the spaced out files would have been: "a"; "a b"; "a b c".
Why does the space character seem to make a difference?
I took a look at some character ASCII values in decimal: "space"=32; "period"=46; "a"=97.
It's not a big thing, but it's odd--(or I am).

Regards,
Steve.

folder/directory

the reason is because you have the continued before the folder.

so it would think that there is something starting with C before
f.

the remedy is to name the folder "erasing folder continued 1"
"erasing
folder contuined 2" "erasing folder.

orhan.

ps, sorry about miss spellings, its 10 in the night here in the
UK.
oi hope you get what i mean by the miss-spellings.----- Original

Subject: [Braillenote] Unexpected order of file names in
folder/directory

Hi,

I'm running 7.5.28 on mPower transplant BT32.
I had several files in a subdirectory on the flash disk, and I
noticed
while scrolling down there names, that three of them were in an
order I
would not expect.
I was viewing the directory in name order.
Their names and order were: "erasing folder continued1";
"erasing folder
continued2"; "erasing folder".
So, I created a new folder and then created three files in it
using
KeyWord, with the same names as above.
They still appeared in the folder in the same order.
The order I made them in is the same I expect them to have in
the
directory list, that is: "erasing folder"; "erasing folder
continued1";
"erasing folder continued2".
I am using UK computer Braille input.

Regards,
Steve.
