Well, grin, I usually do make it a practice to only quote the last message in my reply, unless there is one below it that really needs to be there. So, I do try to cut down on the size of the messages being sent.
As to the list change, that actually happened in Feb of 2007 when Andy Riden was the moderator--although perhaps Dean and/or Jonathan might have liked to have made the change earlier: http://list.humanware.com/archives/braillenote/2007-February/067512.html Vicky Collins [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2008 9:40 PM Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Replying To the List Hi Vicky: If you are using the PC and Outlook Express or any other mail reader to send mail, when you invoke the REPLY TO ALL feature, the TO field is POPULATED WITH THE ADDRESSES of all persons whose addresses apear in the original thread. So, the best approach is to Shift-Tab to the TO field and delete all other addresses except that of the list. It is a good practice to cultivate because it reduces clutter. Originally, the REPLIES always went directly to the list; but there was a GOOD DEAL OF PROTEST about the list being cluttered with several OFF TOPIC issues. I think Messrs. Mosen and Jackson were at the helm of affairs when the change was affected, but I may be wrong on that one!! Those who live outside the United States and PAY FOR THE INTERNET by the minute complained that their inboxes were being CLOBBERED with the various responses to whatever I say on here, <smile>; so, the list managers changed the rules to ensure that ALL REPLIES, unless you choose to REPLY TO ALL, should go directly to the sender. I can't say whether or not it is a good idea; I contend that anyone subscribing to a list should be prepared for a trillion vagaries, else, go digest!!
