Ottawa Canada Dear Ann K. Parsons and list:
The Maestro is Humanware's name for a PDA they put a tactile overlay on so a blind person can use it. The software is Trekker and it runs on the pDA. There is a separate GPS receiver that connects to the Maestro by Blue Tooth, older models used a connecting cord. I believe the headphones are also Blue Tooth, but am not certain about this. You are best to contact your friendly local Humanware authorized dealer, or Humanware sales office for authoritative information. If your friend wanting a GPS system already has a BrailleNote or VoiceNote, they may wish to consider the Sendero Group GPS system which runs on the BrailleNote/VoiceNote. I don't know how the Trekker and Sendero Group GPS compare in terms of features, performance in cities with huge skyscrapers or battery life. Either contact your Humanware Sales office for Trekker info or the Sendero Group for info about their GPS. Have been told both systems are of excellent quality, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Brian Brian K.
