Go that options > keyboard settings and space down to "use 6 or 8 dot computer braille?" Press h and then enter. You now are in 8-dot. You must hit space with all commands requiring the 6 dots in conjunction with backspace or enter, so a new line is not just enter but space-enter. To turn up the volume is now space-enter-dot4. Alternitvely you can press backspace-h, telling the bn that just the next character will be in 8-dot but the normal 6 dot braille will still remain after that one character is typed.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Computer braille question

Hi,

I wanted to enter a pounds sign in an ;e-mail I was composing on
the
web and so needed the computer braille sign for it. According to
the
appendix of the manual, the pounds sign is in 8 dot UK computer
braille and is dots 2 3 6 7 8. I had my PK set to use US
computer
braille so I changed that in the braille options and told it to
use
the UK computer braille table.

Is there anything else I need to do? Because when I try dots 2 3
6 7
8 nothing happens except an error beep. I can write out the word
pounds for the e-mail but want to know how to switch computer
braille
tables anyway it might be necessary for something else...

Catherine
