thanks a bunch for the info.
i have now got the manual back on the keysoft system disk, so am
able to look up various topics as necessary, and i was able to
look up the info regarding the serial port. i am curious to see
if i can now use my pk with my index embosser, it's partly a
question of whether i've got the appropriate lead.
does this 32 gb compact flash card protrude a little bit, or is
it level with the surface of the pk. when you put a compact
flash card in to the m-power, there is about half an inch
protruding so it can be pulled out easily.

I am interested to know how you obtained a 6GB card as I thought

It is very true that the Flash Disk is very small, this is where
it is very
important to obtain a CompactFlash card that will suit you, which
is where
the 32GB card is nice as it is roughly 150USD.

i've had to make a tab with gaffa tape so i can pull it out.

There is only one slot in the BrailleNote PK and that is the
CompactFlash
card slot. It is possible to get CompactFlash cards of up to
32GB in
capacity. The two brands that have worked in the BrailleNote as
wireless
cards go are SanDisk and Ambicom. It is getting harder and
harder to find
these cards. Your best bet would be to phone your HumanWare
office and
obtain the card that way as you will be paying a little more but
it will be
certain that it will work.

i've tried all the resets, and the manual does not come back, it

if i try and access the user guide from the options menu, i keep
getting a repeated message saying cannot find the table of
contents
file, and have to do a reset.
for the time being, how can i change what the joystick does?
