Dear Joseph,
Why doesn't the bn clear web pages as they are closed, there by not taking up so much memory?

Subject: re: [Braillenote] mpower web error question

Hi Kortney,
Even an "expert" myself have this problem
(I'm a senior at high school)...
First of all, I'll ask you some questions
before I explain what this "message" means:
* Are you using speech along with braille
display?
* Are you using Eloquence as speech
synthesizer?
* When you go to Support Information Mode
(SPACE with O/SPACE with I), what does the
memory info (SPACE with I) tell you,
especially virtual memory? Does it give you
readings such as 5% or 2%his
Now, onto the explanation...
Whenever you open KeyWeb (technically Pocket
Internet Explorer), BrailleNote will use some
RAM memory to store the executable (an
executable is the name of the program). When
you open a website such as Google or Yahoo,
it stores not only the page text, but all
those formatting that the page specifies,
such as lists and boldface fonts. When you
continuously browse the web for some time,
you'll notice that it has to store more
information on RAM, thereby using available
memory. The message "not enough storage"
means that there is not enough memory for the
BrailleNote to use to open the next website.
Now, here's something you need to keep in
mind: when you check the memory info, you
would have noticed that there are plenty of
physical memory left (say 20%were even though
the virtual memory reading is 1%. A virtual
memory is a memory type that does not really
"exist", but is made to exist in some form to
allow storage of information that is greater
than physical 64 MB of RAM. By default,
Windows CE versions up to 5.2 (Windows Mobile
6 included) supports up to 32 MB of virtual
memory. If this location is used up, the
BrailleNote will not be able to store more
information even though there is a plenty
amount of physical memory left. The message
that Kortney mentioned below is related to
the fact that there is no more virtual
memory.
Why do I mention do fact? Because even though
there is no cure for this kind of error now,
there is at least an explanation that might
suit the condition of this error - in other
words, there is an underlying reason why this
occurs. The effective cure for this error
(until there is "significant upgrade"), is
resetting the unit, as it frees RAM.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. Was this post simple for you? (I
guess this means another article for PBWiki
then.)

Subject: [Braillenote] mpower web error
question

Hi list,
Okay, so I'm an experienced BN user (been
using it since fourth
grade and I'm a junior now) and this problem
has been bugging me
since forever. Well, whenever I go on the
internet after about
8-10 sights or sometimes even different web
pages within the
sight, my BN displays the message: Not enough
storage is
available to process this command. Once this
error has occurred
and I ignore it I am unable to play media
files, get email, and
after about 5 more sights it doesn't display
anything on the page
except the title. It doesn't start
functioning normally again
until I reset it, but the next time I go on
the web-browser it
comes back without fail even if I do any of
the more drastic
resets. This thing is driving me crazy
because I'm a student and
use the internet a lot. Do any of you no
what's wrong or what I
can do to fix it?
Kortney.
