Hi Wendy,
One thing you could do is change the recipes database definition.
Do not do this though directly on the database you have.
The field that currently is a number could be changed to a string
so instead of containing 1/2 you could enter half.
The first thing to do would be copy all the records into a CSV
file--(comma separated values).
Changing the database structure is a little fiddly, so if you
like, tell me what fields you would like changing, send me email
off list with the definitions file attached, and I'll see if we
can do it.
(Did a test of it earlier and it worked).
Regards,
Steve.

Subject: [Braillenote] pronouncing fractions
Hello all, I have recently purchased a BrailleNote QT. I have
been entering my recipes into the database and was wondering if
there was a way of getting fractions such as 1/2 to say half and
not one slash two. I tried going into utilities, then
pronounciation dictionary but numbers are invalid entries. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Wendy
