The QT command for BACKSPACE with C is CTRL  with I

If I had to guess, I'd suggest erasing the keysoft.ksd file, then doing a
reset.
To do this, go into File Manager and open Directory.  Go to the dictionaries

folder on the flash disk.   Find the keysoft.ksd file and do a backspace 
with c to erase it. I forget what the QT equivalent is.  When prompted,
answer yes to confirm that you intend to erase the file. After the file is
erased, do not exit file manager. Do a standard reset immediately.
