I do, and I would probably switch products without a thought (if
money would allow) if the calculator went away. I almost never
use keylist, though; I have a keybase database for addresses
(keymail should be made to use these like it can keylist). I
also never use infrared, but I know people that use it a lot.
All this to say that each person uses their product in a
different way, but just because features are there does not mean
you have to use them.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] future releases of KeySoft and
compartmentalisation
Hi,
If that can be done it would be good. But just to say -
personally I
do find Keybase essential. A couple of things I use it for are
keeping track of what books/films/music I have/want to get; and
keeping a record of how many hours my Support Workers have
worked.
Just wanted to throw that in as I would imagine quite a few
people
would find it useful for similar tasks.

Hi everyone,
Recently Matthew intrigued me when he referred to his using the
fm
radio "for traffic" reports: look out everyone in the district
where he
lives, he's on the road (smile).
Seriously, though, I live in an Australian Capital City
(Adelaide) and
cannot get ANY even MAJOR radio station even using headphones.
I've
NEVER opened the "games" folder NOR the "scientific calculator".
What would be really innovative would be if it were possible for
Humanware to streamline the future Braillenote so that customers
could
purchase the applications THEY will use: another producer
albeit of
braille displays has cottoned on to this concept.
This may be totally impracticable ... but ... maybe not?
I think that the overwhelming majority of BN users would agree
that
Keyword, Keymail, Keylist, Keyweb and Keyplan + the Mediacentre
are
central to this unit's life with the other features like the
calculator
and keybase not so crucial.
We have had the catalogues of suggestions for future releases,
before,
and both Matthew's but especially Alex's lists of bugs do need
addressing. However, without compartmentalisation it looks to
me as if
what's wanted is a dedicated, stand-alone mini-computer and
that's not
what Braillenote claims to be.
I am irritated in Keyword when "number-sign 4" and only that
number is
pronounced "bled" and no matter what one does cannot change that
presentation even after its translation into a "word format".
