This is true. And something else I've done is to put a bookmark where I
originally was in the document to make it easy to return to that spot
after seeing the total number of pages.

Hi,

Someone pointed out to me offlist that I could go to the end of the
document and then do space 1-5-6 which would tell me the current
position and coincidentally the total number of pages.  So I'll do
that from now on - but I think it'd be nice to have that info included
when you do space 1-5-6 though - it could say "page 2 of 10" or
whatever.
