Someone quite a while ago, told me Humanware takes the Braille display to pieces to clean it and then places the pieces into an ultrasonic cleaning machine. It uses ultrasound to agitate the cleaning bath which I believe is plain water to shake the tiniest of grit and grime off of the pins that comprise the Braille display. Humanware does not recommend you or I use liquid on the Braille display to clean it as it may cause grit and grime to sink lower on the display pins or the liquid may cause damage to the piezo-electric actuators that raise the pins. Anyway, if in doubt about whether your display needs professional cleaning, be certain to err on the side of caution and get an RMA to have it cleaned by Humanware. Brian Brian K.
