I have a textfile of a book, which I am trying to format with the first
line of each paragraph indented. I don't want to use the Indent First Line
of Paragraph setting, because that will also cause titles of chapters and
subsections to be indented. Instead, I placed a tab at the beginning of each
paragraph.

I discovered, however, that this causes every line of the paragraph to
be indented. The manual says that this is the result of placing the letter i
before the number of each tab stop in the formatting menu. When I go into
the formatting menu and
get rid of the i, my book looks the way it is supposed to. The problem is
that even though I save the file, the indent tabs are back when I reopen it.
I've tried saving my format settings with backspace-s, but the indent tabs
keep reappearing, once I close and reopen the file.

Sorry this is so confusing. I'm using an mPower BT, running 7.5, Build
28. I will be very grateful for any suggestions.
