You can back up your email by simply copying the entire keymail
folder. The key to your email is a database called "email
folders". This means that you have "email folders", a keylist
definition file, and "email folders.cdb", the actual emails; you
need both to view your email, but the cdb file is the actual
email data. It is easiest to copy the entire keymail folder,
though, so that you also get your attachments and templates. The
same thing goes for your keylist folder. The problem here is
that you will not be able to view any of this without a
braillenote product running a version of keysoft that is 6.11 or
later; anything earlier will not be able to recognize the
database format. Be very careful if you get another bn; there
can only be one keymail database at a time, and you cannot change
where the bn looks for it like you can in keylist, so be careful
not to overwrite the one on the bn with yours. You can move the
cdb file out and put yours in its place, then move yours out and
put the original back when you are done, plus rename the original
attachments folder (found under the keymail folder, you need
directory mode) and put your attachments folder under the keymail
folder, then move yours out and rename the original back to
"attachments" when you have your bn back. Let us know if you
have any other questions about this or if I made this as clear as
mud.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Sorry for the bother
Hi, sorry for the bother, because I know I sent an email a couple
of days ago, but I didn't get a reply. Does anyone know how to
move emails from the BrailleNote to a backup USB drive? And also,
I tried copying my addresses, and for some reason, it's not
working. I went into the address list menu and selected copy
addresses, and tried both document and address list, and it
didn't look like it copied all the addresses.
I'm sending my BN out when I get this done, so if anyone has any
suggestions at all, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
