Hi all. So since the Bn has the victor reader software, can the nls bokks be read on the bn rather than having to purchase the stream?

Hi Sharon, Chuck, Peter, and List,
I think what Isaac did after I told him that by pressing
control with I from the main menu he could see that the Victor
Reader software is already loaded in the Braillenote. When you
press I with control, if you scroll down, you will hear or read
with your fingers "Victor Reader Soft version 2.0.127". If this
does not apply to the Braillenote's features, then perhaps
someone at HumanWare can explain why it's there. i believe all
M-Powers which have been upgraded to 7.5 are capable of using the
Victor Stream if the M-Power's owner purchases the stream. Of
course everyone should know that if the BN's owner does not have
a computer he or she cannot download anything from the National
Library Service using the Braille or Voice Note. For this
reason, I currently have my local librarian download books for me
to use on a little device called the Zenstone.
I personally will not purchase a Victor Reader until I can use
my BrailleNote or Braille Sense Plus to download material from
NLS without needing a computer and read it on the reader of my
choice. Also, an advantage to the Zenstone is that it fits in
the palm of my hand, does basically the same thing that the
Victor Reader Stream does, can be attached to the BN using one of
the USB ports, and the Stone costs only $40.00. The Zenstone's
only drawback (perhaps) is the fact that after a year or so,
depending on use, the battery dies and the whole device must be
replaced. The reason I said (perhaps) is because depending on
the cost of upgrades for the Victor Stream, it may be more cost
effective to replace a whole unit every 12-18 months than to
upgrade the $329.00 Stream, especially if Stream upgrades are
more than $40.00 each time an upgrade is released.

Subject: [Braillenote] Isaac's Bnbt post

Hi Isaac and List,
Isaac, I saw your Bt32 listed for sale. Please clarify, you
said there is a Victor Stream in the Bn. How? I'i've never heard
of this before. Also what version is it running? Does it have
the newer display? What condition is it in?
This may seem like a lot of questions, but important ones,
nonetheless.
Living in the Present One day at a time, This is enough. Do
not look back and grieve over the past. For it is gone. And do
not be troubled about the future. For it has not yet come. Live
in the present, and make it so beautiful. That it will be worth
remembering.
