1. No one on here, except ks programmers, can say for sure, but I believe that IE, Pocket Word, a version of the Bookshare unpack utility for CE, and underlying programs like boot are based in some part on their true CE counterparts. 2. You connect your bn, go to "mobile device" in "my computer" (on xp anyway), select your flash disk, and delete it. You then disconnect, if it does not happen automatically, and do a simple reset. This should destroy all of your information. You can also try looking for a "reformat" option in the context menu of the flash disk, but as the pc sees it as a folder this may not work. I must warn you that I have not tried either way. 3. There is a debug option that you can get to through the boot menu. Enter the menu by pressing reset with dots 4-6, and letting go of the dots when you hear a musical series of tones, rather like upgrading keysoft. Now press d and you will see "debug on", along with two rising tones. Now reset again (pressing the option to start keysoft will not do anything) and you will see everything work as before, except that your serial port is no longer available. This is because it is tied up with the debug stream, sending information to any listening device (such as a pc running terminal software, like HyperTerminal on xp and with its settings configured correctly to pick up the stream, email me if you want those settings). It is not much to see as it only seems to work during resets and upgrades; you do not see anything if you press space-e, to exit, from the main menu, even though the bn gives you that error tone.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] braillenote technical questions

Hi List. I have a few technical questions about the braillenote.

1. I heard that some programs on the braillenote are based on
other windows ce programs. For example, keyweb is based on
pocket internet explorer. What are some of the other windows ce
based programs that humanware uses parts of in their own
programs?
2. I heard that you could reformat the information on the flash
disk through activesync. I probably would not want to do this,
but I am curious how its done.
3. What are some of the programs that humanware uses to manage
and repair the braillenote through a pc?
