I would exercise it, but at the same time take a never-used,
soft-bristled toothbrush, have someone hold the bn upsidedown,
and run the brush gently over the display, working it carefully
into all the pins. Do it gently, though, so that any dislodged
dirt and dust does not fall into the holes. This is also why I
say to hold it upsidedown. After a minute or so, you may want to
very lightly soak a lint-free cloth and run it over the display a
few times, again while the unit is upsidedown and running through
the braille display exercise program.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] dot partially up on braille display
Hi List
This is Zach, and one of the pins on the braille display is
half way between its upright and its down position. My father
has suggested using the "Exercise the Braille Display" function
found in the Support Information Mode through the Options Menu.
Should that fix it?
Zach
