Hi, Karen,
If you hit insert a, that will bring you to the attachment and select it.
Press enter, and you will get a dialog box about opening the attachment.
Hit open, and assuming the attachment is readable by whatever you've got on the computer, it should open, and you can read it. Sometimes, for whatever reason, you might have to alt tab around to find the document.
