Hi Josh,
Few factors, including lack of display cleaning, not enough current being
passed through the display and so on. Try cleaniung the display (using soft
damp cloth) to see what happens. Then go to Options/Support information
Mode/Exercise the braille display (SPaCE with O/FN+O, then SPACE with
I/READ+I then X). Hold the unit upside down for couple minutes to allow
unneeded particles to come out of the display. When you are done, press
ESC/SPaCE with E to exit the Exercise mode, then press SPaCE with E/ESC
twice to exit Support Info Mode.

Hi list.  I don't know if it's my immagination, but sometimes the 
dots on the braille display feel less firm than others.  
Sometimes, I have a problem, where a dot is barely showing on the 
display.  Why is this?
