Hi,

Blake's suggestion of trying to reproduce the problem sounds reasonable, (if a little painful). If you do retry it, make sure you have a backup just in case it gets even more upset. Is this the sort of thing you have done before without any problem?
Was the file you were listening to on the flash disk?
Were there any other peripherals plugged into the BN while you were doing this? You could try recreating your email folder database - (if you have a backup you can bring the others back).
Do you have very many messages in there?

I wonder if it was some kind of confusion of interupts from different devices. I.e., the BN was trying to deal with the paused file on the disk while sorting out the wireless card.

Regards,
Steve.

Subject: [Braillenote] URGENT: serious problems??

Hi all,
I just had a very strange thing happen, fixed it, and now I am
losing data!
I was listening to a media file and wanted to check email, so I
paused the file, turned off the bn, put in the wifi card, and
turned the bn on. I tried to connect to the network but it would
not do so, so I started the media file again. After a minute I
took out the wifi card, and the bn suddenly started repeating an
instant ofa millisecond or less) of audio over and over, and was
frozen completely. I had headphones in at the time and, though I
am not sure if the events are related or if it was a coincidance,
when I pulled out the headphones the bn went silent for a second,
then shut off by itself. It would not even respond to the reset
button!!! I plugged the bn into the charger and tried turning it
off and on, but nothing. I then tried a reset, but again,
nothing. Finally I did a service reset and got my bn back!!!
End of story? Nope. I connected to the network and received 27
messages... all of which disappeared! My inbox had all theemail
it has had from the past, but the new 27 emails are just gone. I
did a 4-5-6 reset and have not tried anything since, except to
write this email. Suggestions? Thanks!

Have a great day,
Alex
