Hello Peter and list, the size of the drive doesn't matter. It's the format that is important. It has to be F-A-T format to work with the braillenote. I have two hard drives, one is 160 GB and the other is 500 GB. They are both Western Digital Hard Drives. I highly recommend any Western Digital products. I haven't had any issues at all. To find good deals on Western Digital, visit the following links.

http://www.buy.com
http://www.newegg.com
http://www.tigerclaw.com
&
http://www.blindbargains.com
Blind Bargains doesn't sell any products, they are a site that advertises good deals from several websites. They offten have listings for hard drives as well as SD and CF cards and other electronics.
It's a very useful site.
Enjoy.
Sincerely,
John
