I totally agree with your suggestion. When I check messages on my
computer using outlook express, it makes a beep-beep noise when new messages
arrive. I think it should be something like that.

I have a suggestion for KeyMail to play a sound when new email are
downloaded.
Humanware could make it that you choose whether you want to be notified in
the usual way, or you could have a sound play, and you could customise
that sound so you can have the sound of your choice.
