Hi Alex and list,
That'll be me...
Another way to replace this startup.wav with your own wave sound is by using
a loophole in Backup or Restore Files under Utilities - with some help from
File Manager:
1.
On Flash or other drive, create a folder where you'll store your own
startup.wav file. I usually give the name "backupzkw" - kw stands for
KeySoft System Disk/Windows.
2. Using Directory mode, create yet another folder UNDER this new folder and
call it "Windows" (without quotes).
3. Copy the startup.wav file to this directory e.g. in my case, it would be
backupzkw/windows.
4. Go to Main Menu/Utilities/Backup or Restore files. Press R for Restore.
5. at the "drive" prompt, select the drive where you've created this new
folder. Likewise, at the folder name, select this new folder.
6. At the "Restore to which drive" prompt, select KeySoft System Disk by
typing k.
Note: if a prompt about replacing existing files appear, press A to skip it.
After it is done, it should say (in our case), "1 file copied." Press Reset,
and your new startup sound is ready to go.
Hope I explained it clearly enough.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. I did not mention the warnings about misplacing the file - that
will be up to other persons to post it. Now I mention it: be warned that you
need to follow these above instructions AS IS.

Someone mentioned it on the list a long while ago, I don't
remember who.

Have a great day,
Alex
