1.  I have never heard it used, but I do not use ir (infrared).
2. Ks could not find a serial number to authorize itself. This happens from time to time, just a glitch like any computer. A basic reset, as you said, fixes it; ks tries again to find authorization and this time it can. A similar thing happens with Sendero's GPS, sometimes with the program itself, sometimes with the mapping engine.

hi list.

I have two questions.

1.  When, if at all, is the keysoft ir connected.wav file used.

2.  This only ever happened to me once and i fixed it with a
reset with no keys held down.  But the braillenote gave this
message: "Serial number required, please contact your
distributor." it then made a strange noise and then shut down.
What exactly does this message mean.
